At AstraZeneca, we put patients first and strive to meet their unmet needs worldwide. Working here means being entrepreneurial, thinking big and working together to make the impossible a reality. If you are swift to action, confident to lead, willing to collaborate, and curious about what science can do, then you’re our kind of person!

AstraZeneca’s apprenticeship scheme offers you an opportunity to learn within a multi-national company gaining useable skills whilst collaborating alongside industry specialists and professionals.

With a focus on providing an inclusive and diverse environment to work within; we celebrate our people as individuals and focus on their development to support innovation across our company.

Legal & Commercial Partnerships, UK Marketing Company

Our UK Marketing Company (UKMC) is responsible for the marketing of our medicines in the UK. Here you’ll also find colleagues from AstraZeneca’s corporate functions and our European and International regions’ sales and marketing teams. As a member of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), all of our sales, marketing and communications activities are subject to the ABPI Code of Practice. If you’re inspired by the possibilities of science to make a difference and ready to discover what you can do – join us.

Our move to Pancras Square offers us the strongest possible platform to transform the lives of patients in the UK, as the country’s leading biopharmaceutical company. The move will bring the UK Marketing Company closer to customers, partners and stakeholders in the UK’s healthcare environment, as well as foster greater collaboration with the wider AZUK footprint.

The role will involve:

  • being part of a team that works to supply our medicines, provide information about them and deliver support to patients and the NHS;
  • acting ethically, with professionalism and judgement;
  • progressing legal matters and transactions with commercial suppliers and healthcare organisations;
  • applying legal knowledge and commercial judgement to produce solutions which meet clients’ needs and address their commercial or personal circumstances;
  • deploying the full range of legal skills – research, interviewing and advising, advocacy;
  • negotiation, drafting, communicating orally and in writing;
  • establishing and maintaining effective and professional relationships; and
  • managing themselves and their own work effectively.

Training and Development:

AstraZeneca will sponsor you through your Graduate entry solicitor apprenticeship at BPP University Law School.

The apprenticeship combines working, earning a full-time salary, with fully funded part-time university learning (1 day/week). This will give you the opportunity to gain a SQE qualification, just as you would if you went to law school full-time and secured a training contract, with the advantage of gaining relevant work-life skills and the excitement of helping to develop new medicines whilst taking your first steps towards a rewarding career.

If you feel you fulfil our brief of being driven, determined and hard-working, we will reward you with ‘on the job’ technical skills and training whilst directly funding and supporting you through your Solicitor Apprenticeship. We will enable you to make the most of your abilities and your passion to help patients whilst fulfilling your personal career aspirations.
