Background and role

IMCD UK is headquartered in Sutton, Surrey, with sites in Leeds and Milton Keynes, employing around 170 people. Our Product Managers are our primary contact for our Principals (a.k.a. Suppliers), responsible for identifying and delivering new business opportunities and optimising growth opportunities, and for providing technical support on key product lines.

Key tasks & responsibilities

  • Primary IMCD UK contact for selected principals
  • (I)PM responsibility for a key principle across several territories with some overseas travel
  • Provide detailed technical support on key product lines
  • Introduce & promote new product offerings and applications
  • Coordinate and arrange training of IMCD for key personnel
  • Progress product inquiries and business opportunities, and liaise directly with customers, as required
  • Monitor product sales in order to optimise growth opportunities
  • Initiate and deliver product and sales targets to meet annual growth aspirations
  • Provide comprehensive support to the sales team, in order to achieve budget targets
  • Actively participate in the development of line reports with product responsibility
  • Identify and deliver new business opportunities
  • Initiate and progress product campaigns & undertake market mapping in support of portfolio and business development
  • Fully utilise the functionality of SalesForce (CRM system) to provide effective and timely communication


  • Have a strong technical and commercial background, ideally gained through experience within the UK Home Care & I&I markets
  • Academically qualified with a degree in chemistry, related subject or proven track record gained within the chemical sector
  • Self-motivated, disciplined and comfortable working from home
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and internet based applications
